Diocese of Charlotte
5th Eucharistic Congress

Each year Bishop Peter Jugis invites the
Youth and Young Adults of the Diocese to
join him in a Lenten Pilgrimage to Belmont
Abbey on the Sunday before Palm Sunday.

This great event is a part of the preparation
for the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress.  In
2008 more than 300 youths took part.

The witness talks of the Belmont Abbey
College students, Abbot Placid and Dr.
William Thierfelder accent a time of prayer,
praise, adoration and the Eucharistic
Procession. This year the Belmont Abbey
College students are planning an extended
program of activities, praise and worship,
witnessing to the Faith and Vocations talks
and presentations.

Joining the Monks for Vespers and
Benediction closes a great gathering of so
many of the Youth and Young Adults of our
Diocese.
